Everything is different—except where you expect to find it. Tiger19 keeps the familiar relationships of a traditional electric guitar, then adds everything it needs to become its own 15-watt stereo busking rig.
Everything is different—except where you expect to find it. Tiger19 keeps the familiar relationships of a traditional electric guitar, then adds everything it needs to become its own 15-watt stereo busking rig.
There are good reasons why certain controls have ended up where they are on successful production guitars.
Players know where to reach for them.
So Tiger19 doesn't try to reinvent everything.
It keeps the familiar relationships of a traditional electric guitar—and gets considerably less traditional from there.
The body began as a 1965 Eminee Tiger plastic toy guitar. A cherry carpenter’s level became the structural beam, joined by a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a cello scroll at the headstock.
There are Telecaster pickups, an ebony archtop bridge and a cello tailpiece.
Somehow, everything is still in the right place.
Tiger19 uses the same basic amplification and wiring ideas developed for the NakedCowboy guitar, but puts them into this completely different package.
Inside is a 15-watt stereo Shure amplifier, along with a Rubÿtone preamp and a rechargeable 12-volt power supply originally intended as backup power for a security camera.
Because apparently security cameras and electric guitars have more in common than anyone realized.
The result is a self-contained electric guitar that can go out and make its own noise without needing an amplifier sitting on the sidewalk beside it.
It looks nothing like the guitar your hands are expecting.
The trick is that everything they need is still where they expect to find it.
